Measuring environmental impact
The GREET® (Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy used in Technologies) model evaluates the environmental impacts of advanced vehicle technologies, alternative/conventional transportation fuels, and new bio-derived chemicals.
GREET can estimate:
- Energy consumption
- Water consumption
- Greenhouse gas emissions
- Criteria air pollutant emissions
GREET helps users understand the environmental impact of a fuel or bioproduct from a supply chain perspective — from feedstock production all the way to the final product. The results of the life-cycle analysis modeling are used to identify the environmental benefits of bio-derived chemicals and fuels, as well as to help identify primary drivers and technical barriers along the supply chain.
