Research Focus
Dayna Daubaras, Ph.D. is Science and Engineering Research Scientist at the Idaho National Laboratory performing in the Chemical and Biological Processing and Analytical Chemistry Departments. She earned her doctorate in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Illinois, at Chicago and a bachelor’s in Microbiology from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining INL in 2009, Dr. Daubaras worked at Schering-Plough Research Institute as an Associate Principal Scientist, leading a team of molecular biologists, microbiologists, chemists, and structural chemists on drug discovery projects. Her expertise is the genetic engineering of microorganisms for enzyme and chemical production, as well as kinetic characterization of a variety of enzyme classes. Dayna has experience in various analytical chemistry techniques, including High Performance Liquid Chromatograph for analysis of carbohydrates, organic acids, and aromatic compounds.
