Webinar: Agile BioFoundry Bioproduct Project Overview

Date and Time

April 29, 2022
11:00 am – 1:00 pm

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Agile BioFoundry (ABF) consortium and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts Process Development Unit (ABPDU) will host a webinar on biomanufacturing research utilizing host organisms. The webinar, titled “Agile Biofoundry Bioproduct Project Overview” will be held on April 29, 2022, from 2–4 p.m. ET, and will feature ABF researchers discussing details and highlights of this project, analysis methods that have directed the research, and the project’s future.

The Agile BioFoundry’s goal is to reduce bioprocess scale-up time by 50% compared to the current 10-year average. To reach this goal, the consortium—comprised of seven national laboratories—is developing and deploying technologies to enable commercially-relevant biomanufacturing of a range of bioproducts with the use of new and established host organisms.

This webinar will cover how ABF is pursuing this goal and will include a deeper dive into some of the technical highlights, including how technoeconomic analysis and life cycle analysis processes, as well as a selection of beachhead molecules (an intermediate that can be developed into multiple different bioproducts), are helping to direct this research.

The webinar will also feature outcomes from ABF’s proof-of-concept demonstration projects, featuring key milestones achieved by ABF’s scientists, and development of analytical processes and tools for the furthering the research.

Finally, the webinar will describe the next steps for ABF as it moves into the next three-year cycle of the project.
